At AMPP 2025 in Nashville, we were excited to showcase our Corrosion Toolset—designed to simplify Computational Corrosion Analysis (CCA) for industries like automotive, aerospace, and defense. You may know how complex corrosion management can be if you work in any of these sectors. Our mission is to bridge the gap between advanced corrosion science with easy-to-use engineering tools that deliver fast and accurate insights. In other words, we want to lift the burden from the end user’s shoulders and increase the adoption of computational tools in their day-to-day activities.
Tackling Galvanic Corrosion: The Big 80%
Galvanic corrosion is responsible for up to 80% of corrosion damage in military aircraft. For engineers and corrosion managers, addressing this issue is crucial. One effective approach is using corrosion risk indicators—simulation tools that predict spots where corrosion may occur in the early stages of the engineering design cycle. To this end, we use our data-driven solution, Corrosion Djinn, to calculate galvanic corrosion rates accurately and quickly. We collected our data according to MIL-STD-889D protocols.
Imagine this: you’re in CAD, designing a complex structure made from multiple materials with thousands of interfaces. You start to wonder—how will corrosion affect these choices? Corrosion Djinn, integrated into Simcenter NX, gives you answers right away. It shows you in minutes if a material swap or coating adjustment might be needed to improve long-term compatibility.
You load the full car assembly and assign materials, and with one click, —boom—NX Corrosion Risks solver lights it up. Trouble zones are in red and yellow across the model. It’s instant feedback while you are still in your CAD environment, shows you exactly where corrosion could strike and where smarter material choices or coatings can help ensuring long-term durability down the road.

Powering Advanced Simulations
Need more details? Corrosion Djinn is also integrated with an advanced CFD tools, Simcenter STAR-CCM+. This tool allows you to simulate full 3D geometries, multi-part assemblies, and multi-material systems, reducing the uncertainty due to anode-cathode ratios, and effects of electrolyte thicknesses.
So, think of Corrosion Djinn as the fuel that powers your CAD and CAE tools. It brings you the data and insights you need to make decisions faster and design smarter.
Built for Real-World Impact
As materials and process engineers or corrosion managers, you don’t have hours to spend setting up complicated models. Our template-based tool is built for speed and practicality. With our library of parts, just pick a template, enter your dimensions and materials, and with one click, the tool handles everything behind the scenes. It automatically creates geometry, generates the mesh, runs the calculations, and shows you the potential corrosion risk.
Bolted overlap joints are everywhere, and now you have a new coating you want to evaluate? No need to worry about mesh settings or tweaking CFD parameters. You don’t need to be a simulation expert. All it takes is a material list and the geometric dimensions. That’s it. Our template library tool handles the complexity behind the scenes, giving you fast, meaningful insights without the usual hassle.

Here’s how it helps you:
- Early corrosion assessments save costs and prevent repairs.
- Lower ESOH risks during design for better safety.
- Longer asset life and readiness through proactive maintenance.
We know that every project has its challenges—whether you’re designing the next big aerospace part or maintaining high-performance vehicles. Our goal is to help you solve corrosion issues faster and with less complexity.
