Ready to Roll… and Repair! Dalistick® Systems for F-35 Sustainment from Corrdesa

For years, the solution to repairing aerospace coatings has required a lengthy grounding of aircraft in order to perform the repairs. No one wants to dismantle an indemand aircraft to repair it for corrosion – and now we don’t have to. Dalistick® Systems, in a portable cart, are ready to roll and have already begun shipping out to fulfill the needs of customers. Corrdesa has completed over half of its contract for Lockheed Martin to supply an initial 50 units, with options for 40+ per year for the following 3 years, to equip the growing number of F-35 squadrons around the world.

Repairs no longer need to be lengthy, messy or a hassle. The Dalistick® Systems contain a closed-loop plating system which keep plating and repair electrolytes contained. Two peristaltic pumps feed electrolyte from a secured bottle, through the plating tool where it repairs the aircraft, and back into the bottle for clean, no-touch disposal when it is depleted.

The system utilizes a Dalistick® tool for application of electrolytes, think of a large chemically resistant highlighter pen connected to a power source. Using the mobile cart, a technician can roll the system just outside of an aircraft’s shadow and implement a repair using two Dalistick® Tools; the first for removal of a damaged coating and the second to apply the new coating. Depending on the repair, a technician can preset the voltage and current delivered by the rectifier to ensure that the repair coating meets its targeted thickness.

Corrdesa has spent years partnered with Dalistick to develop a station and repair process that can be rolled straight up to the flight line, cutting the repair times, the mess, and getting aircraft flying again.
